I founded Renek LLC to help public sector agencies, policymakers, and industry partners navigate the federal policy, funding, and organizational challenges that can make or break important initiatives. I am focused on developing practical solutions to complex problems and helping leaders move priorities forward when the path isn't always clear.
My perspective is grounded in more than two decades in the public sector, where I learned that getting things done in a large bureaucracy requires direct communication, understanding political realities, respecting technical expertise, and bringing the right people together to make decisions.
I have held several executive roles at the New York Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA), including Senior Advisor on Federal Policy to the Chair & CEO and Chief of Staff at MTA NYC Transit. As MTA's lead strategist on federal affairs, I played a central role in securing more than $10 billion in federal discretionary grants and led advocacy efforts that secured nearly $70 billion in federal COVID-19 relief for transit.
Throughout my career I worked across all levels of the MTA, with elected officials and federal partners on high-profile cross-functional initiatives. My transit career began analyzing the impact of subway service changes, including Second Avenue Subway Phase 1, which was my introduction to federal funding and environmental policy.
For many years, I have been an active voice in shaping national transportation policy, including through leadership roles in industry associations and direct engagement with Congress and USDOT. I am a native New Yorker with an MPA from NYU Wagner School of Public Service and a BA in Political Science from UCLA.
